GUARDSMAN IS MOVING OUT OF CHICAGO!
Some of you may have already heard the news, but we figured we better make it official: Guardsman is leaving Chicago this spring. Steve will be moving to Wyoming for work, and Rob will be moving out west shortly after. While we are excited for our next adventure, it will be bittersweet for sure. We’ve made some amazing friends and family these past few years, and we are thankful for all of you who we’ve had the pleasure of sharing our time in Chicago with!
So what does this mean for the future of the band? First of all, this is NOT the end of Guardsman. Far from it, in fact! We are currently busy tracking The Entropy Illusion - Part II, and already have plans for albums #3 and #4. While we won’t be playing shows as often for the next few years, we’ll be releasing new music regularly, and getting out for shows and mini-tours as often as we can.
What this DOES mean is that we will unfortunately have to part ways with Leo. Leo joined up with us shortly after we moved to Chicago in 2015 and has played a vital role in writing and shaping the sound of our debut album, as well as in live shows and in behind-the-scenes stuff like booking and promotion. We’re extremely grateful for the time, energy, and dedication he’s put into this band, and along with Carlos he’ll always be a part of the Guardsman family.
The good news is we have one last show before we move on from the Windy City! Come hang out with us Saturday, March 30 at Cairo Pizza and Grill for our “farewell show”. It will be Guardsman’s last hurrah here in Chicago (for the time being, at least), and our last time performing with Leo, so it will really be a special show and we can’t wait!
Joining us for this show will be our good friends in Vyse, who we haven’t shared the stage with in far too long! We will also be rocking out with Vitrial (shhhh…don’t tell, but Vitrial is actually most of the same members as Guardsman!). And if that wasn’t enough, our good friends in Orchestra in Black (we know they’re our good friends because they’re actually OURSELVES plus the amazing Lee Swiatkowski) will also be rocking out at Cairo. So yeah, we’ll basically be playing all night, with Vyse giving us a much needed break. ;)
So this is it - your last chance to see Guardsman in Chicago for the foreseeable future! Get your butts out to Cairo on March 30 and let’s bring the roof down! (metaphorically, of course….this ain’t the Mutiny).
GUARDSMAN HEADS TO FLORIDA FOR 'FIRE & ICE'!
WE WISH YOU A ROCKIN' CHRISTMAS!
